Talk about things going crazy one moment he was eating dinner while dealing with the ever pain in the ass yet hot as hell Midori even though he’d never admit this to anyone. It would look bad if one of the leaders of the Avengers had a thing for one of the high ranking members of HYDRA. The next moment he was standing in Gotham at least he thought it was Gotham everything was in ruins and he had no idea how any of this happened. However this happened it’d probably would be a good idea for him to get out of the open he didn’t want whoever or whatever did this he didn’t want to run into having no idea what he’d be dealing with.
Instead he made his way into the ruins and traveled that way hoping it’d keep him out of sight. It took hours to get to where he wanted and even then he wasn’t sure if it’d be safe. But it was some place he knew and hopefully for the time being it’d be a place for him to think of what to do and where to go. He really wished there was something or someone to tell him what was going on here. He hated to think about it but it seemed like World War III had happened and no one survived it. Sighing he made his way inside of what was left of the Birds of Prey base and found a nice place to sit that wasn’t to destroyed. There were a few things in here he could use as a bed if need be.

Clearly the kid wasn't that much of a detective, otherwise he would have been able to tell someone else was occupying the Birds home base. But, then again, to be honest, the place was big enough that it was quite possible for people to slip in and out. Heck, that's what half of the Bat family loved to do anyways. Zinda would be monitoring a radio and all of a sudden someone would be right behind her. Of course that wasn't nearly as bad as when she was in the middle if a conversation with them, and upon looking up, she'd find herself completely alone. Annoying as all hell. There had been more than one occasion where she had threatened to put bells around their necks. Granted, this kid wasn't exactly stealthy either. He moved like a soldier, like an army grunt, and his little uniform definitely seemed to emphasize military.
Zinda quietly watched him from an upper level as he looked around, seemingly investigating the place. "Just what are you lookin' for, soldier boy?" she whispered to herself as he started to get further into the base. "Nope. That's far enough. Hands where I can see 'em," she told him, drawing back the hammer of her pistol. It wasn't needed, but the added sound, amplified by the acoustics in the room hopefully emphasized her order to stop. "It's not that I mind visitors coming in here, especially not ones as cute as you, but I got to know just how you figured out the combination to get in here in the first place. I suggest you tell the truth and don't do anything that'll get yourself shot, kid."

James looked up from his place on the floor he already knew who it was before he saw her only one person had an accent like that and that was his mother sure enough he was right only she was a lot younger. Oh look the guns she had given him were now pointed at him. But he did do what he was told and raised his hands in the air so he wouldn't get shot.“You taught it to me. I’m….your son from another world.” well she did tell him to be truthful but this probably wasn’t what she wanted to hear. And he was pretty sure this wasn’t his world after all his mother was older and Gotham hadn’t been destroyed not like this at least.
Hopefully she’d believe him because he really didn’t want to be shot it would really suck and it would hurt a lot. “I have pictures if you don’t believe me.” He said just remembering he was suppose to drop the pictures off to his aunt she had planned on using them in something she didn’t tell him just asked for the pictures. He never got to drop them off because he ended up here some how he had no idea how he had got here or why he was head but he was and he really didn’t want to be in this world alone and clueless as to what was happening.

Well, that was..... new. Zinda had dealt with all sorts of weird stuff over the years. From getting superpowers, meeting aliens, being brainwashed, being put under a spell, being shrunk, being turned into a mermaid, spending a few times as a supervillain, fighting monsters, fighting robots, fighting giants, fighting giant animals, fighting giant robot animals, to being tossed through time, she had basically run the gauntlet of any weird thing that could happen to a person. But having a child was definitely a first. The odd thing was, she wasn't phased by that announcement. It just showed how used she was to weird things.
"How do you drink your beer?" she asked after a few moments. "And please don't tell me you joined the army instead of the air force. That'd break my heart." Coming down the stairs, Zinda had to hide a smirk. He had pictures? That was.... that'd be something to see, but then again, she wasn't sure if she wanted to see what she looked like as an old woman. "Are the pictures flattering? And what the hell... heck, do I call you, kid?" She'd have to start watching her language from now on. It was one thing to swear with teammates, but in front of kids? That was just rude.

"Same as you do even know how to order beer in 30 different languages." He didn't actually drink until he was of legal age. “Army?” he asked before looking down at his uniform “I’m not in the army or air force the government would probably have me killed if I did join either of those groups. They don’t take to kindly to superhumans which is why almost all the heroes retired or was killed by the government.” Didn’t really sound all that wonderful when said out loud. He stood up now that he wasn’t going to be shot from his sort of mother. “But I am the CEO of Blackhawk airways when I’m not running around saving people and running the law.”
“I would think so most of them were in the early days either before I was born or when I was a child.” he said as he took the envelope out and took some of the pictures of out “James Bartholomew Rogers.” he said when she asked his name. He showed her a picture of Captain America “This is my father Captain America or Steve Rogers.” he said which showed how his and the man in the pictures costume was a lot a like only different colors.

"Nice to know that my skills have gone on to do some good," Zinda replied, holstering her guns with a smirk, though it didn't last long. "What happened to make everyone hate superhumans? I know there are some people that don't like what heroes do, blaming us for the existence of bad guys, but killing you guys? That's crazy." Her eyes then widened at the news of his day job. "You run Blackhawk Airways? But I sold all my stock in the company when things went south for me with them, and took their best plane as a retirement gift. How'd you... did you buy them out?"
Taking a seat near him, Zinda looked through the pictures he had. "James Bartholomew... Good middle name. It's nice to meet you, James. Good to know that I eventually get such a cute kid. And a cute husband..." she said, eying Captain America. "I know him. I first saw him around a few military functions. Veteran things. Not that hard to miss when he and I are the only ones who look like they learned about World War II through a text book, not lived it." She then paused and looked down at her polished boots. "He's... wow, this really is a small world. Steve is... he's here in this base. He's in a bad way too. Combat stress reaction, PTSD, depression over what happened. He doesn't leave his room much. I try to help, but I don't know how much good I'm doing."

“A new law called the superhuman registration act. It meant you had to tell the government who you were under the mask. I’m sure you can guess how well that went with some people. Dad didn’t really agree with it even though the world already knew who he was. Some people fought and died others retired and started families. My mother chose to retire not wanting to risk losing the child she a few days before had found out she had. The years went by children were born and grew up and ready to step into their parent's shoes the registration act came around again almost no one signed it so we were all labeled outlaws and were to be killed on sight if we didn’t give ourselves up.” He explained to her why he was a wanted man and that the government wanted him as well as the other superhumans dead in his time. “Aunt Babs found out Blackhawk airways was going under worse then before she used her skills to buy it out made you the owner until you handed over to me. It’s doing pretty well now much better than it had in the past. Hate the meetings though.” He was never one to sit around listening to people talking on and on and on all day long a few times he had actually fallen asleep during the meetings they did like that though.
“That’s actually how you two meet in my time you two talked all the time then that turned to dating, dating turned to marriage.” He said as he handed her a picture of a ticked off Zinda with Tony and Clint with black eyes “This was the day after the wedding you had to thank Tony for his wedding gift he left in the bedroom then thanked Clint for messing with Tony’s gift that made it worse.” He said before frowning over what she had said that didn’t sound right. “What happened here? Maybe if I knew I could help. It’d take something big to do that to Captain America.” he said knowing that his father and any Captain America would usually push through whatever was going on and kept things going.

Zinda grimaced as James told his story. "Typical government. Always stickin' their noses in places they don't belong, though I'll admit, I'm flattered that they think I'm a superhuman. But, Aunt Babs?" she chuckled, raising an eyebrow. "Let me guess, you grew up with her and the other Birds as aunts. I'm sure that was both interesting and educational. I'm glad you had a pretty good life up 'til now, James."
Looking at the picture, Zinda recognized the two with the serious shiners on their face. She knew better than to ask what the wedding gift was, though, judging from everyone's faces in the photos, it wasn't something she would enjoy. "Cute. I'm sure she... I... treasured that gift a lot."
This wasn't his problem, Zinda had no need to tell James about the attacks or anything that had to do with Steve's breakdown, he was her kid after all. But, he was here, and when it came to time travel, she knew that it was sometimes permanent, so he needed to be brought up to speed.
"A robot by the name of Ultron attacked the world one day. Not just one place with one attack. He did it all over the world, taking everyone by surprise. No one thought he had that big of an army. From what was calculated, millions of people died in the first wave. Just poof, vaporized. That included a lot of heroes, including a bunch of them from Steve's team. So add 'survivor's guilt' to that list I mentioned earlier. His shield was shattered too, but not him, at least not physically. Maybe Ultron liked it that way, I don't know. It's been a while and he's still wearing his tattered uniform. He just sits in his room, depressed. I can't get him out of it, James."

“Well everyone knew you and Captain America were married if you can’t get him one way you hit him where it hurts the most. And with Osborn as president and Lex as his vice you can see how bad things got real fast at the time.” No one really even knew how Osborn got to be president because he had trouble leading H.A.M.M.E.R. some people thought it was Lex who had him under control “Someone had to teach me how to use computers. Who better then the woman who owned the internet? Besides my mother was teaching me everything about planes. Combine the two and I upgraded Aerie One to be the most high tech plane ever created.” It didn’t hurt he had become pretty good friends with the WildCATS and used their tech to upgrade Aerie One. Funny how the Kherubim where so advance technology wise that almost all of them would rather use a sword then any of their tech to fight their endless war with the Daemonites as well as other races their own included.
“Not really no. Not when it’s a device with Tony’s voice saying “Congrats Steve you're no longer a virgin!” with confetti and lights shooting out of it. Thanks to Clint messing with it he put it on an endless loop and made it louder so everyone in the area could hear it. Not long after it was realized it wasn’t going to end it was shot dead.” It had been Bobbi that told Zinda Clint was the one who had messed with it after overhearing him talk about it with Tony earlier that morning. After that she was the one who took the picture.
“I know who Ultron is I have the scars to prove it.” For some reason not all of them would heal no one could really figure out why after tests had been ran on them but he just decided to live with it because there wasn’t anything anyone could do about it. “Could you take me to him? I think I know how to help him.” he said getting up from where he was and offered Zinda a hand up.

"Lex? As in Luthor? The damn that man is second in command is the day I eat my hat. I'm sort of familiar with Osborn, but he's being used as a puppet, but you probably already figured that out." Zinda wasn't going to act like James didn't know anything, in fact he seemed to be up to speed on a lot of things, but it felt weird not to come to her own conclusions. It was like a time jump all over again. Everyone else knows the answers except for her.
"So, Babs taught you computers and you learned flying from me. I gotta ask, what did Dinah, and other people, teach you?" Knowing the rest of the Birds, it was probably something useful and not at all tawdry, otherwise they'd end up looking like Tony and Clint. At the end of his little wedding story, Zinda raised an eyebrow. "Right. If this timeline ever ends up following yours, I'll make sure to have a strict wedding gift policy." She was trying to be funny, since Zinda knew that in all likelihood, this world wouldn't end up like James', not even on the marriage front.
Taking his hand, the blonde woman stood up and looked at her future son a bit seriously. "I don't know what you're expecting to get out of this reunion, or if you think what you can do will help Steve. I'm not promising anything, but... I'll take you to him," she told him before leading the way to Steve's room. "Steve? Steve, it's Zinda. Do you mind if I come in? I've got a visitor with me," she said, knocking on the door before slowly opening the door.

“He’s probably dead in this world like mostly everyone else. Not sure about Osborn being a puppet the man was unhinged when he was in control of H.A.M.M.E.R. a group that was suppose to replace S.H.I.E.L.D. he and his Avengers use to take pills to keep their crazy in checked worked for a few months before Osborn started cracking again.” The Green Goblin wasn’t really the type to be anyone’s puppet.
“Cooking, fighting, when to keep my friends away from aunt Helena. Driving a whole lot of things. And I learned how to survive pretty much anywhere from Barda and to never make fun of her weight.” He hadn’t actually ever called Barda fat but he had been there when someone else had and saw what happened when you did. “Good luck with that rule thing.” he said Tony was a smart guy he might be able to get around it if he really wanted to.
“I’m not expecting anything I’m not trying to get you two together in hopes I’d be born in this world. I’m just trying to get Steve back on his feet. In a world like this being like he is he wouldn’t survive long.” he said as he followed his sort of mother down into the tunnel leading to the base where everyone who was still alive lived now. “Besides as of right now he’s the only one who knows how to beat Ultron.”

Steve was sitting on the floor with his knees up and his arms resting on them with his head on top of those so he couldn’t see anyone and no one could see his face. At his feet lay his shield in two pieces. He hadn’t moved from this spot from the moment he had been brought here. He never talked to anyone or made much of any movement which made some people wonder if he was still alive.
Like all the times in the past Steve hadn’t moved from where he was or said a word to anyone when there was a knock at the door. Whoever it was would just let themselves in for whatever reason they needed to be in his room. Lately it had only been Zinda a woman he had met while at a few military functions they were the only young ones there because Nick Fury never went to them for whatever reason he had.

"I didn't think you were trying to get us together, James. You don't seem the matchmaker type," she smiled. "I know it's forward of me, but do you even have a girl back home?" Zinda didn't know why she asked it. Well, yes she did, but if truth be told, she just wanted to get to know the boy a bit more.
"And just how do you know that Steve knows how to beat these tin cans? I saw a lot of good people fall and I thought they could beat them easily?"
Inside Steve's room, Zinda sighed. He still hadn't moved from that spot. Nor did he seem to be in a talkative mood. She frowned, realizing she should have brought him something to eat or drink. At least he still seemed to be doing that, albeit at a bare minimum. Sitting down next to him, Zinda gently put her hand on his shoulder, rubbing it slightly.
"Steve? This is James. He..." She paused, looking up at the young man for a brief moment. "You know how we both could write a book on crazy things that's happened to us? I think we can add James to that book. He's from a different world, and he... he says he's our son. What do you think about that? Us... having a kid."

James almost pouted when she said he didn’t look like the matchmaker type. Even though he never really tried to hook two people up doesn’t mean he couldn’t right? “Right…I’ll keep that in mind.” he replied before looking at Zinda “I’ve dated women...it’s just it does really last long.” something always came along to break up whatever woman he was with so his track record wasn’t that great in that area and he’s tried doing things other ways but it still ended up with them splitting up in the end.
“Because Hank Pym created Ultron and Hank is or was an Avenger. He created the base for Ultron then the thing became sentient and rebelled. Time and time again Ultron fought the Avengers he was either beat or took off. Until now he figured out how to win the war this time and the whole world paid for it.” So far Ultron hadn’t shown up in his time he wasn’t sure why though. James was just glade he didn't after learning and seeing what would happen if Ultron took over the world.

Steve liked Zinda she was nice and from the same time he was so there was always something to talk about in the past at least but now days she was really the only one who would come and check on him even though he’d never talked and hardly ate anything. Plus she was really pretty….wait what did she just say? They had a son? this news caused Steve to move for the first time in front of anyone in days he looked up at the two.
James was dressed in something that looked a lot like his Captain America only it was two colors instead of three. Even though he couldn’t see it very well he saw the straps of the shield on his shoulders. Steve often did that when he needed both of his hands free or whatever reason. He did look a lot like Steve but with less body mass.
