Idunn certainly did not take Sif's suggestion of cleaning up as being mean. Far from it actually. She had intended on getting herself clean as soon as she was done talking with Sif, but since the goddess was insisting on such a courtesy, Idunn would accept it without question. "Thank you, Sif. I will happily do as you've instructed."
Upon the proper comment being brushed off, Idunn smiled a little. Even the Sif she knew had never been the most lady-like of the goddesses. Freyja and Frigga certainly were, but Sif? Being the wife of Thor, she had always had an edge to her. An earthy sort of nature that Idunn had always found pleasing. Yes, as she had said, Sif never truly took up arms against the enemy, not often, but you learned quickly never to mess with the 'good mother'. While most goddesses were called 'the wife of…', there were many times where it had been Thor who was given the title of 'husband of Sif'.
Her smile dropped a little at the mention of nightmares. "You should not be troubled by those dreams, Sif. You deserve peaceful sleep. If there is anything I can do to sooth your sleep, let me know." Idunn meant what she said, she would do anything to help Sif. "Then we will leave in the morning for Midgard." She didn't question why men would hit on her. Idunn did know that men, both mortal and not, preferred women with her proportions, though she doubted that their offers would do any good. She was married after all. They would have to respect that.
Excusing herself, the young goddess slipped into the bathroom in order to make herself a bit more presentable. Technology seemed to have improved over the years, and, like most people in foreign bathrooms, it took her just a bit of experimentation to get the shower working. But it was a glorious experience. Shucking off her clothing, she stepped into the warm water, ignoring the oddity of it being a glass enclosed shower. She even found herself humming softly as she washed, the acoustics producing an interesting sound. Eventually, she did remember that she was a guest here and reluctantly ended the shower, wrapping a fluffy white towel about herself and magically drying her hair in quick succession.

Sif raised an eyebrow at Idunn’s offer to help her sleep “What can you do? Drug me?” she really didn’t know what the small blonde could do to help her sleep at night without drugging her each night. She had a feeling that was what Idunn had planned on doing to her so she’d get sleep. If she wasn’t she really didn’t think golden apples could put her to sleep.
While Idunn headed into her bathroom to take a shower Sif left the room to hunt down some clothes for her to wear. It took some time but Sif finally found something for Idunn to wear. Paying the tailor she made her way back to her room where she laid out the green and gold dress. She made her way out onto the balcony over looking the city below. What was she going to do with herself? Her life was such a mess. For the briefist if moments Sif had thought about ending it all then she'd realize where she would end up if she went out that way.

If Idunn could drug Sif, she would. But, alas, the goddess knew nothing about those kinds of potions. Apples provided little in the way of that and the closest drug she could create would need vast quantities of seeds and end up killing her friend, which wasn't at all what she had in mind. Perhaps if she would cook for Sif a few good meals, maybe then her mind would be less troubled by war and death.
Stepping out of the bathroom, the goddess found a dress of green and gold laying on the bed. It was a rich creation, costly in both money and the quality of the fabric, but Idunn would not be rude and refuse such a gift. She put it on and laced up her boots before joining Sif on the balcony.
"Thank you for the dress, Sif. It is very beautiful and it frames my body well." It was tighter and more form fitting than her ruined shift, causing her to have quite the spill of cleavage, but she would not say anything if this was the fashion of the day. As a form of gratitude, Idunn produced a golden apple from nowhere. It pleased her to still be able to call these little fruits to her hand, making her feel so much better and more at home. "It is not much, but it is all I have as a way of telling you thank you," she said, offering the fruit to Sif. They kept people young, as well as cured injuries and disease, so perhaps Idunn's apples would work some miracle on Sif.

Sif turned to look at Idunn when she joined her on the balcony and looked the small blonde over. Maybe partly checking her out but she was also making sure the dress fit her right. The last thing needed was for her to be exposing herself to anyone. “Your welcome and it looks nice on you.” She said before looking away not wanting to make things weird. "We're going to be meeting with a Greek goddess she's going to be helping me with a few things." She said explaining more as to why she was going to earth. "I need a new start to things and she can help."
“Uh...thanks.” She said taking the golden apple she was kind of hungry the apple would be a good snack. She bit into the apple she was about to say how good it was until she a sharp pain in her mouth. She put her hand over her mouth as the pain grew from the bottom of her mouth to the top. It had became so painful she crushed the apple in her hand as she looked at Idunn with a look that asked what had she done to her as she could taste blood in her mouth. She finally managed to spit the apple out on the floor in a bloody mess.

"Wearing something this rich, it makes me feel like Freyja. She would often give me the dresses she no longer wished to wear, but I was either too big for them in certain areas, or I did not wish to ruin them in day to day work. But this I will wear whenever I get the chance." Idunn paused, a mildly confused look on her face. "If you did not want me to be friends with such a monster, as you put it, why did you spend so much money on me?" she asked, not that she would disapprove. Idunn just wanted to hear Sif admit she wasn't a monster.
The goddess's interests perked up when the Greek goddess was mentioned. She never had any dealing with that pantheon, though she was well aware of their own golden apples. As far as she knew, they were nothing more than ornamentation, an odd trait for such a rare gift. Perhaps, if things worked out with this goddess, Idunn might be able to visit their groves and study the trees. "New starts are good. I suppose we are both doing that, whether we like it or not."
Idunn's heart dropped when Sif replied unsurely to the gift of the apple, but it was all the goddess had, so it would have to do for the moment. But when the blood and pain came, she yelped and panicked. Never had such a thing happened before, not to any of the gods who had eaten her apples. They never hurt, only healed and made the eater young again. Panicking, Idunn retrieved her towel and held it to Sif's mouth, banishing the remains of the apple with a single word. She saw the rage and hurt in Sif's eyes, clear as day. "I am sorry, Sif! I did not know! Other gods, both Aesir, Vanir, and Jotunn have eaten my apples with no ill effect. Even the Dwarves have, once, tasted them. No one has ever been pained by them. I swear it!" Running back inside, she poured a glass of water and returned, offering it to the pained woman in order to at least wash the taste of blood from her mouth.

It seemed most if not all of Idunn clothes were hand me downs from Freya nothing really of her own. It was Sif’s turn to give her a confused look “It didn’t cost as much as you seem to think it did. A lot of things have changed making things cheaper for everyone to buy.” She still wasn’t admitting she wasn’t a monster like Idunn wanted her to do.
“Just so you know the Greek gods have been changed the old ones have died and new ones have been picked to replace them.” Sif explained but also leaving out the part where they were brutally murdered. “The one we’re meeting replaced Poseidon and she’s the king of the Greek Gods.” even though Zarda was a woman she declared herself king and would drowned anyone who said she couldn’t because she was female.
Sif took the towel held it to her mouth for a moment before biting into it eventually gnawing on it. Doing so helped with the pain it didn’t get rid of it completely but it was better than not doing it. She would most likely have to replace the towel but that was fine with her she just didn’t want to stop what she was doing. Walking around she found something to write with and to write on. She wrote down that her father had ripped her fangs out when she was a small child and the apple most likely brought them back. Sif then handed it Idunn for her to read so she wouldn’t freak out as much.

Idunn didn't know how to feel upon hearing that the dress was not as expensive as once thought. She was both sad and happy at the knowledge. But, rather than appear as such, the goddess simply nodded. "Still, thank you for the gift. You are a good woman, Sif."
"The Olympians had their own Ragnarok?" she asked upon hearing of their deaths. That was unexpected as she had thought they were called 'the gods undying'. Bragi, being the god of poetry and a bard, was a knowledgeable man and had often taught Idunn the ways of other cultures. He had briefly touched on the Greeks and told her how their gods did not age after a certain point unless they wanted to. Idunn wanted to ask how they died, but now did not seem the time.
"A woman as a king?" It was a little odd to picture such a thing, but as Sif had said, times had changed. "Do they like being ruled by a woman? Does she have a husband who is a queen? Is she a good ruler?" Naturally, Idunn had more questions, but it would probably be best to ask the king herself.
Reading Sif's explanation for why she was chewing a towel to shreds did help the situation, but upon realizing that the woman was essentially teething, Idunn walked to the bathroom. Soaking a washcloth in ice cold water, she returned to Sif and held it up to her. "Put this in your mouth instead. The cold will help." Before Aldrif had been killed or taken or whatever it was that happened, the babe had started to teethe, so Idunn was well versed in trying to soothe an infant's pain. Not that Sif was an infant, but the same principles applied. "Aldrif let me rub her gums, but I doubt you will," she said with a wry little smile. This was a rather funny looking situation; an experienced shieldmaiden chewing on a towel like a puppy.

“Something like that yeah.” Sif said when Idunn asked her if the Olympians had their own Ragnarok. That’d work for now and it’d save Idunn from fearing a woman who wasn’t all that bad. “No but she has a wife who’s the Sky-Mother. And now that I think about it almost all the Greek goddess and a few Asgardian women who have female lovers only a few prefer the men.” She could count on one hand how many of the newer goddess had husbands.
Sif took the new towel she was right it did help with the pain and she wasn’t going to let Idunn rub her gums. It was bad enough the woman had to see this much. Before she could say anything there was a knock at the door. Walking over she opened it to see that Logan was standing on the other side of the door. “Pretending to be a vampire?” He asked noticing the dried blood trails on her face. “No.” She showed him the fangs that were coming in. He didn’t seem at all bothered by it but did close the door behind him so no one else could see or hear what they were saying.
“Idunn this is Logan the Greek god of war who's here for…?” He held up a jewelry box “You told me to bring it back when you returned and you might need this.” He handed her a few bottles of alcohol he made himself. “That’ll deal with the pain and if you need anymore just ask.” he said as she opened a bottle and sniffed it before pulling back that stuff was strong. “Got other bottles to drop off I’ll be seeing ya around. You two can get back to having fun” he said before letting himself out leaving Sif staring at the door after what he had said unable to believe he just said that.

"I assume they have husbands though, yes? How else can they have children?" There were a few stories of the gods, particularly male ones, giving birth to children, but usually there was a second party involved in the conception. Same gendered unions occurred and were not frowned upon in Midgard, Idunn knew, so long as there was also a husband or wife to help make children. But, of course this mentality was perhaps a couple hundred or thousand years old. "Do you have a female lover?" Perhaps that was why this Sif wanted nothing to do with Thor. Idunn was asking this out of a courtesy, but had seen no evidence of anyone in her life.
The man at the door was tall and handsome in a gruff sort of way. That trait continued in how he walked and talked, as if he were a hairy little dwarf in a man's body. But, he seemed like a good man, returning what belonged to Sif as well as bringing her a few bottles or two of what seemed to be alcohol. As innocent and naive as Idunn seemed, she knew a bit about beer and mead. She curtsied politely in greeting to the god Logan, though she stopped in midmotion upon hearing his comment.
Idunn blushed furiously after he left, she was so shocked by what the man had said. "Does he… I do not… why would he say such a thing?" she sputtered. "Are we not allowed to be in your chambers together?" They were both fully clothed and it was clear that Sif was in pain. Taking the bottles from Sif, she set them down on a nearby table. "He is a lecherous man, even for a god of war. So very much like Loki or a dirty, old dwarf. I do not like him." She had suffered insults and lewd comments before, but Idunn would not keep silent when it was her friend who was insulted.
Turning back to Sif, Idunn took the end of the towel and gently wiped away some of the dried blood from her chin. "How are you feeling? May I look at your mouth?" She wanted to make sure the teeth were coming in properly, taking full responsibility for it all for them being there in the first place.

“One of them change gender so no they don’t have husbands.” That was the thing about magic users they didn’t need to worry about having someone else there to have the children for them one just changed genders and boom. They can have as many children as they want whenever they want. “No one would want me.” She said without looking at Idunn. “It’s better to be alone anyways.”
Sif raised an eyebrow over the way Idunn was acting after what Logan had said. “Because women tend to do girly things together? Hair, nails talk about guys stuff like that.” Sif really didn’t understand why Idunn was getting so worked up over what Logan had said about the two of them. “They had six foot tall dwarves in your time?” she asked because Logan wasn’t short or very hairy anymore.
Sif thought about what Idunn had wanted to do before opening her mouth so she could look inside at her teeth. Most likely to check them over to make sure they were coming in like they should be and not something weird.

"Oh." Changing genders did explain much. The Olympians were odd like that. When Mjolnir had been stolen by Jotunns, Thor and Loki had simply dressed like women to steal it back. They did not actually become them. Idunn had heard many stories of the Olympians and how they had changed sex and shape in order to pursue mortals for their own pleasures. Quite odd indeed.
"How is it better to be alone? And who told you none would want you, Sif? They lie. And… And, just because…" Idunn's hands fiddled nervously. She wanted to reassure Sif that she did not need to be alone, but she did not know how to go about it. "I am alone too. In many ways. Do you not realize this? I am in an odd world and time. I do not have my protector and husband. I do not have my friends. You have friends here. You have status and worth here. I am just a short woman from the woods." She paused for a moment, wanting to collect her thoughts. "Not even Aldrif knows what to do with me. I am afraid to see Freyja for, if she knows me, she may blame me for what became of her child, and if she does not, I am just a strange house maid babbling madly about things. You have more friends than I."
The goddess blushed and started at Sif's explanation. Had she interpreted what Logan had said incorrectly? "I thought he meant that we were sharing in the more intimate activities. I do not want your name to be dragged in the dirt. If he has false thoughts of us being together…" She didn't finish her sentence, knowing she was making a further fool of herself. Sif and Logan were clearly friends and it was wrong for Idunn to accuse him of such lechery. "No dwarves are not that height. By his mannerisms and speech I judged him to be like a dwarf." Her voice trailed off as she finished, feeling horrible. Deciding to say no more, Idunn simply nodded after inspecting Sif's teeth. Everything looked well and good.

“Because no one would be hurt by me. I murdered a close friend of mine I wasn’t in control of my body. But people will believe what they want either way no one will want me around.” Sif explained to Idunn why it was better to be alone for her at least Idunn could find someone probably. “You can make friends and find a new husband in time. My status is in question that’s why I’m here and not at home.” She didn’t know if everything she worked hard for would be stripped from her or not. She had no idea what Aldrif was going to do with her or everyone else. It wasn’t just the All-Mother she had to worry about. “Freya isn’t going to blame you for what happened to Aldrif when she was a baby she knew you weren’t a warrior and you were more than likely out numbered.”
“Drag my name through the dirt? Because I’m a lesbian? No one would say anything I mean Aldrif is a lesbian and who would make fun of the All-Mother?” No one was going to do anything to anyone because of who they loved besides Aldirf would probably give them a look before throwing them out for wasting her time on such foolish things. “He was a lot shorter before he became the god of war and he’s Canadian they talk like that. He really isn’t so bad kind of grumpy but he’s really a big softy. And a father figure to a lot of women.” She explained.

"You have not hurt me, Sif. You been nothing but kind to me. Let others believe what they will, but I want you to stay around me. Not even Thor… Odin… not even Nidhoggr could drag me from your side," Idunn told her, finally able to pick a name of someone who was alive and known for their strength. "I will bear witness for you. If your name and status is in question, then I will uphold its virtue and goodness." As for finding a husband, that can come later. If Aldrif was anything like her father, she was already thinking of who to marry Idunn to and keep the male fighting to a minimum.
"There were only two. One to take Aldrif and one to backhand me across the face, knocking me away from the crib," Idunn answered, recalling the events of the kidnapping. "I should have run, but I did not think they would have come so close or enter the palace so easily. I could not even handle two angels. Unlike you and the rest, I am not a fighter. My magic is tied to the orchard."
Idunn looked up at Sif surprised. She was a lover of women? No wonder the man Logan had implied he was interrupting certain activities. It all made sense now. But, truth be told, Idunn never would have taken Sif for a lesbian. But then again, the one she knew was happily married and had children. This one was the antithesis of her friend. Aldrif being of the same grouping was less surprising for some reason. The realm of angels had only women, so she would not know anything about men. "No one would dare insult the All-Mother, it is true."
Upon learning more about Logan, Idunn felt a little sheepish. "He sounds like a proper and good man. I misjudged him. When I see him, I shall apologies and ask for forgiveness. But, if you could enlighten me… what is a Canadian? I am not familiar with such a word."

“I wouldn’t hurt you I wouldn’t have hurt him either but my body was under someone elses control I had no idea what was going on. When you showed up was when I had been freed from control.” Sif explained giving reason why she had been bleeding half to death when Idunn first met her.
Idunn just managed to tell her what had happened that day right before Aldrif had entered the room. “Your to get married.” She said to Sif who gave her an odd look before she could asked what Aldrif was talking about as she was about to sit on the bed “To Idunn.” Sif totally missed the bed and ended up on the floor. “What?!?” Sif was more shocked over the news of her marriage then missing the bed.
“Either get married or you’ll be locked up for the rest of your life.” Aldrif told Sif as she would be the one who would be locked up and not Idunn. Sif didn’t answer instead she just looked away trying to decide what to do. Maybe it’d be best if she was locked away from everyone for the rest of her life.

"Then it is not your fault. You act like it is. that would be like saying it was my fault the Jotunns kidnapped me," Idunn reasoned. Yes, she had been a naive sort of girl, but it was because of Loki that she had been kidnapped. He lured out of Asgard's city with the promise of new apple trees and that was when she was captured. It was all to save his own life he told her before she was carried off.
With Sif's story told, the young goddess was even more firmly entrenched in her belief that it was not Sif's fault. Even the great Thor and Odin could be ensorcered, so she did not understand it why the shieldmaiden was beating herself over the head to badly.
Out of habit, when Aldrif entered, Idunn gave the woman a greeting of respect and loyalty, so neither the All-Mother nor Sif could see the look of shock when the news was broken. "To me? But…" The goddess glanced over upon hearing her friend topple to the ground. They both shared the same look of disbelief on their faces.
Upon hearing the ultimatum presented, Idunn stepped between the two mighty goddesses and fell to her knees before the All-Mother. "No, please do not lock her up. She has caused no wrong willingly. I will marry Sif. I swear it upon the throne of Asgard in front of whatever witnesses you may ask, I swear that I will marry Sif." Idunn was a natural peacemaker. Yes, she was stubborn and and sometimes had a sharp tongue, but her nature was that of someone who preferred peace and would do anything to settle a conflict. She did not want to see Sif judged and condemned so harshly for something she did not do intentionally. "I will swear a blood oath, All-Mother, if you do not believe me or think this to be a trick. I will marry Sif." A promise struck three times is a promise bound.
