"Some of them," Helios nodded. "Others were shipwrecked sailors. Either way, she takes care of them and loves them all, apparently." Helios honestly wondered if she could still recall all of their names. At Kaileena's question, the sun god actually looked embarrassed before quickly shaking his head. "No. Not unless we are mutually pretending, which is a rare treat. I don't need to imagine with Perseis." And with that said, he bid the woman adieu.
Circe looked down at what she thought was a sleeping Zarda, wondering what all they would have to do for her during this time. Gently laying a hand upon her, Cire stroked the hard and bony skin. She was cool to the touch and cry, not unlike a lizard, but the goddess was used to the far more supple skin of her wife. "Zarda?" she whispered softly. The creature opened its eyes, something that she hadn't expected as Zarda could be quite a heavy sleeper and it sometimes took Circe a couple tries in order to wake her up. "Would you like some food?" she asked, before remembering that she likely couldn't speak in this form. "This will be a long few weeks, unless Kaileena knows how to talk…" Her mind now fully awake, Circe's senses began to tell her just where her mother-in-law was, though why she would be in the Olympian bathhouses when her own suite had a perfectly wonderful bath of her own was a mystery.
"What is your mother doing?" she asked the creature, who simply watched her, giving no indication of an answer. "And what is wrong with you? Besides the obvious?" Again, the lizard monster gave a very un-Zarda-like response and curled back around her. That annoyed Circe. If her mental state was this unstable, things could be very difficult for them. Looking into her eyes, Circe tried to look for anything that was her wife. Incredibly, she found nothing. And by nothing, it was just that. It was like a mental reflection, nothing real at all. With an unamused snarl, Circe pushed the thing off of her and headed towards the baths. If Kaileena thought she could tricked her with some illusion, the woman was sadly mistaken.
She found the alien queen sitting patiently and watching a rather large egg. "What did you do? I thought you said this would take a while. Why the deception? Why the illusion? What is happening with my wife?" Circe did not enjoy being kept in the dark about things. "I want no lies between us, Kaileena."

Kaileena knew Circe was going to be mad at her even before she made the copy, but Zarda told her to do it anyways that she'd take the blame. Easy for her to say she was in an egg while Kaileeena was the one who had to deal with the goddess. Good thing she had eight or nine hours to think about it. If Zarda didn't get it from Circe she'd get it from her mother when she got out of that egg. Kaileena dozed off and on throughout the night if she had something to do she could stay awake the whole time. She was awake before the sun had came up, she wanted to be ready to deal with Circe when she woke up and realized she wasn't with the real Zarda. While she waited for Circe to show up Kaileena began cleaning some of the mess up from last night, no point in the bath house to be a total mess. By the time she had finished Circe was there none to happy either.
Within the egg or chrysalis as it was actually called Zarda had changed once again, this time was the last time no longer did she look like a lizard but was more human looking but not totally. Just as Circe showed up her eyes opened and she smashed open the chrysalis freeing herself and unleashing a massive amount of psionic energy, high into the air creating a storm of raw psychic energy that covered half the world in a dark red sky. Kaileena looked over her daughter and her bone wings? Before looking at Circe "You have problems with what happened you can take it up with your wife." Zarda looked at the two before looking down at herself seeing she had changed so much. "Never said she'd be like that the whole time just said it'd take a while." The change didn't take long it was the getting use to the new powers and such that took the longest.

The psionic blast, even though it was directed upwards rather than outwards, still knocked Circe back a few feet. The goddess had not been expecting this at all. She looked upon her wife's new features; from the dreadlocked hair to the bone wings and everything in between, this was not the Zarda she knew and loved. Even her face had changed slightly. "Take it up with her? I would rather take it up with you, for you are her mother! You don't blame the child for not knowing what goes on with her body, you blame the parent for not giving them the needed information," Circe argued, glaring at Kaileena, not really caring if she was about to get into a fight. "If her mind was so traumatized by the change that it became recessed, you know you've done something terribly wrong," she growled as storm clouds rolled in, a reflection of her anger that darkened the skies further.
"I suppose I should return the favor by giving you much delayed information. The news I wanted to tell you about this morning? You're a grandmother five times over." That said, she turned on her heels and hurried over to Zarda. Yes, it was petty and yes, Kaileena would likely try and tear her head off for such behavior, but Circe didn't care. As far as she knew, her wife had been put through needless pain that could have been avoided. The goddess slowly approached her wife, the look of anger on her face giving way to tears as she gently touched Zarda's cheek. She didn't know if her mind was in the right place, and a small part of her didn't care. "I'm so sorry, Zarda," she whispered. "I'm so sorry you had to go through all of this."

Kaileena held her ground when Zarda hatched before glaring back at her daughter-in-law, her eyes narrowed "Control yourself and start thinking clearly you do not want to start a fight with me." Before she could get any more out Circe was letting her temper get the best of her yet again. A psychic storm and a normal storm don't mix at all and now things were ten times worse than what they were. Kaileena was doing her best to stay on her feet as the whole place was being ripped apart. She managed to make her way over to Circe, while avoiding having her head taken off by debris. "Pull your powers in before you kill everyone!" She told her ready to take her out herself if she didn't. Xander caught Helios before he crashed "Fear not princess I saved you." Yes, he knew Helios was a guy but he couldn't help poking fun. "Sorry about your horses." he wasn't able to save them, they had been hit by debris.
Xander landed near the girls letting go of Helios "I got done early and thought I'd surprise you girls instead your acting like children? Circe your old enough to know better your suppose to be a role model for your daughter and this is what you're teaching her?" he frowned at the younger woman. Zarda didn't say anything to Circe she just stared at her or maybe it was a glare kind of hard to tell "You want to talk to me, you explain things to my mother otherwise you'll never touch me." She floated into the air "And don't half ass it either because I'll know if you did or not." she flew off the psychic storm died down after she left.

Oh, but Circe did want a fight. She was sick of standing idly by while her wife was abused or killed or simply used like a puppet. Zarda was her wife, and she would move heaven and earth to make sure that she was protected and alright. "Control myself? You could have told me that Zarda would become and egg and change once more, but instead you leave me a double, in hopes that I wouldn't notice!" she yelled. "You bandied about the truth, telling me only some of it, not all. Zarda was killed be Ultron, Kaileena! I felt her die! So you must understand just how damn protective I am of her and her well-being!" The storm raged for a few more minutes, until the goddess broke emotionally, causing the tempest to dwindle down to nothing more than a heavy rain shower.
Helios, though thankful for being saved, was not exactly amused by Xander's little joke. His horses, though injured by the flying debris, had managed to survive; the corona they naturally produced when hitched together had acted as a shield against the worst of the projectiles. "Don't call me princess," he told Xander before tending to his chariot and animals.
The look that Circe gave Xander could have shattered steel and broken rock. "Do not tell me how to raise my own daughter, Xander," the goddess yelled. "You and Kaileena are one to talk, leaving your daughter on this planet in order to fend for herself. She is over two thousand years old and you barely know anything about her. I've been with her eighteen years and know her better than you do!" But, when Zarda herself spoke, those words hit harder than anything Kaileena and Xander could yell. Why was she always the victim of these things? What had she ever done to deserve this?
Circe was quiet for a few minutes after Zarda left, just letting her words sink in. She couldn't bear the idea of losing her again, not like this. "As I said, you have five grandchildren. Lyta, who you know, and four more who… they are not actually mine. They are from another universe, or perhaps another time. Kaileena called Kai, Melina, Xander, Dante, and an older Lyta who goes by Hippolyta. They showed up unexpectedly; Kai first and then the others years later aft the Earth was remade. They…. their parents are dead. Killed by something that I'm not familiar with. It was a creature powerful enough to blind Zarda. I thought she was dying, she screamed in pain so much…" Blinking back tears, Circe took a shaky breath before continuing. "I don't want her hurt, Kaileena. She is everything in the world to me. She makes me happy and keeps me whole, and I am dreadfully protective of her. I just want her safe and happy and I hate not knowing how to keep her like that. This scared me. As a woman who can change people's shapes, I hate not having control of that ability with people I love. I felt helpless and scared. I love Zarda that much…. and I'm sorry, for acting as I did." Circe felt sick to her stomach and did not know what more she could tell her in-laws, though she would answer their questions if they had any.

"The double was Zarda's idea I told her you wouldn't like it, she wouldn't listen if you want to get mad at someone for that get mad at her!" Kaileena yelled back "You have no idea how our custom's work! You think just because you're married to her you have the right to know everything you don't. Don't expect things to change just to suit you. I'm bonded to my children don't tell me you know how it felt when she died, I'm the one who went through hell to bring her back to life!" So now everyone knew how Zarda had suddenly come back to life when no one could answer that question.
Angelus suddenly appeared, looking for Circe to ask why Helios wasn't in the sky even though she knew he really wasn't moving the sun she had gotten used to seeing him flying about. She kind of got her answer when she saw the mess and the sun god dealing with his horses. Xander watched the woman he knew who she was but by a different name he had just never seen her in person. That however was short lived when twin beams, came out of where twisting and turning, avoiding hitting Helios instead hit the Angelus killing her, or rather her host body that was a charred husk by the time it hit the ground leaving the true Angelus floating in the air body less and confused over what had just happened. Before she could ask what happened a small clear orb suddenly sucked her in before flying back to a rather tall, dark gray skinned man better known as Darkseid who disappeared before anyone could say or do anything to him.
Seconds after Darkseid disappeared Kai showed up with a 'What the fuck is going on' look she had finally got some down time to chill for a bit just as she sat down in the nice hot bath water Dani fell into her lap literally nearly giving her a heart attack at the same time. Neither of them knew how it happened the last thing Dani remembered was being in front of Helios so Kai went hunting for her grandfather who might be able to fill her in. What she got instead was both her grandparent's which probably meant Kaileena was near by, some place she couldn't see at the moment.
Kaileena listened to what Circe told her about her new grandchildren that had suddenly appeared what Circe told her next didn't help any because it really wasn't hard to blind Zarda you just had to know what to do. "The problem is Circe you act like nothing can hurt Zarda ever you need to learn to not do that because there are things out there that can hurt if not kill her. Then you overreact when something does happen to her and Zarda get's mad at you over it. I understand how much you love her but you need to tone it down or it'll drive you crazy." She wrapped an arm around the small goddess "That's the thing about being from a warrior race we tend to get hurt a lot that doesn't mean it's the end of the world. Patch her up while playing nurse, or doctor to her then yell at her if she did something stupid. It's how we learn."

"Believe me, I will definitely be having words with Zarda about that damn little double," Circe replied in a low voice, still trembling with rage. Yelling at Zarda's mother would do her no good, but she was certainly not about to sit idly by and act like she was fine with everything. But what Kaileena revealed next, that she was the one who brought her wife back, it stunned the goddess completely. All her anger drained from her, all the frustration and rage that she had built up was now gone. All Circe could do was stand there, dumfounded, as she took that information in. What happened next, no one could have expected. The purple-haired goddess quickly embraced her mother-in-law, pulling her into a tight hug, as she wept and rested her head against Kaileena's shoulder. She wanted to ask Kaileena how it was possible; how she could be bonded with her and how she brought the love of her life back, but instead she just wept in her arms.
Seeing Angelus appear as he inspected and rehitched his horses together, Helios expected that he was in for a bit of a lecture. "There was a brief problem. I was blown off course and had to make sure my team was suitable to drive. I'm sure we can say that the sunlessness was due to a brief eclipse or something." As he finished his work, he saw the twin beams arch past him, making impossible twists, turns, and right angles as the met their mark upon his great-grandmother. She was dead before he could do anything, though in his mind, it didn't matter. Turning to face the intruder, Helios blazed hotter and brighter than any sun, as flaming armor covered his body. Enraged, he drew his bow from thin air and fired two quick shots at Darkseid as he fled. He did not know if he hit his target, but if that creature lived, Helios swore revenge on him.
Kai found him kneeling over Dani's charred body. The damage was extensive, and if the goddess of the dead was here, then there was clearly not much hope for the mortal woman. "He took her. A tall, dark, stone skinned man with blazing eyes and cruel demeanor killed Dani and took the Angelus," he told Kai, giving her a more thorough description of Darkseid. "I can see what I can do to preserve the body or perhaps have a better one made, but Circe needs to know about this immediately. Olympus is under attack and I doubt this will end any time soon," the sun god told Kai as he pointed in the direction that Circe was in. He then wrapped the body up in his golden cloak and laid it in his chariot.
Fortunately, Circe's tears didn't last too long. Mainly because it was embarrassing to be weeping in your mother-in-law's arms, and also partially due to what Kaileena was saying. "No, the problem is is that I don't know what can hurt Zarda. She has never told me. All I know is that she has an aversion to magic, but the few times I have used it on her, she has handled it well enough. There are other weakness, I'm sure, but your stubborn daughter keeps mum about it, saying only that 'the fewer people who know about it, the better'," she explained. "I have seen her survive things that would have caused Superman to stumble. She shrugs everything off left and right. Doing that only enforces my notion that she can not be hurt. So when she does become wounded, it is a shock to me. How can I not react as I do when she does not provide me, her own wife, with information. She knows about my weakness and she thinks it's funny that a little flowering herb can hurt me. And as for yelling at her over her stupidity? Every time I do, she flies off, just as she did now and out of respect, I do not follow her. When she comes back, I try to talk to her about it, and she is as responsive as a brick wall. So how am I to learn from that? Or should I just shut up and play the happy homemaker, knowing that I will never truly know my wife and never truly be close to her because I am not her mother who she loves more than anything?" It was difficult, but Circe managed to not raise her voice in anger, despite all the frustration she was feeling.

Well, at least now she wasn't being blamed for something that she was against in the first place and the rightful person was blamed for it even if it was her own daughter. What happened next was a surprise, she wasn't expecting Circe to break down crying in her arms after being so angry over what had happened to Zarda as well as the double that was suppose to fool Circe. Kaileena held her while she cried she'd get an answer as to what was going on sooner or later.
"Do what you can with her body I have her soul in a safe place ready to be returned when she has something to return to." Kai told her grandfather before leaving him to his work to go find Circe to tell her what was going on. "If Zarda doesn't want to tell you you have a a half dozen children to get those answers from." Kai told Circe, if Zarda wanted to be a pain in the ass and not tell her wife anything. "But that'll have to wait until another time we have a far bigger problem to deal with." She pulled out a scroll of the different artifacts"After the thing with Zinda I paid Dani a visit, she told me the Rapture is an artifact which brings up what just happened." She pointed behind her with her thumb "Darkseid just killed Dani and took the Angelus that makes two out of the known artifacts being taken." she put an x on those two artifacts wondering who would be attacked next.
"We need to do something before the other's are killed and their artifacts are taken." What that was she didn't know nor did she know why Darkseid and Black Adam were taking them it didn't make any sense as far as she knew neither of them would ever work together yet here they were killing off people or trying to and taking very old very powerful objects. "There's also the reason as to why they're taking them we all know that the artifacts chose their hosts and can't be forced to take a different host." Kai thought on this "I need to get to Sara, she's the only other person that would know why anyone would bring these artifacts together." She was the only one who's had an artifact the longest. Kai disappeared to go looking for the former cop in hopes that no one had gone after her yet.
